Timmy, ‘the most adored, adorable, innocent pony in all the known world’, ends up in The Pits for crimes against poomanity. But it’s a terrible mistake! (Ahem …) He must use all his special skills to escape. When charming his way past the guards doesn’t work, he turns to the one thing that never fails him – the power of his farts. Can he save himself, and learn a valuable lesson about friendship along the way?
Created by much-loved Australian comedian Magda Szubanski, this is the third uproarious book in the Timmy the Ticked-Off Pony series. As the subtitle shows, the book is overflowing with the kind of toilet humour that kids aged six and older find completely hilarious. Bite-sized pieces of text are ideal for new or reluctant readers, while Timmy’s increasingly outrageous behaviour is sure to leave littlies in fits of giggles.
Dean Rankine takes Magda’s text and runs with it, adding his own quirky twist to the tale. His two-colour cartoons play well with the witty words, ensuring merry movement blows across every spread. There’s plenty to keep small eyes occupied, as they search for the extra layer of laughs within the illustrations.
Although it is fantastically funny from the
first page until the last, there is great heart among the poonami of fart
jokes. Because of this, the book is sure to become a firm favourite with
youngsters.
