New Netflix Series: Mr Midnight

Australian author and poet Jim Aitchison (aka Lee) has seen his horror stories for middle readers become a NETFLIX series.  MR MIDNIGHT: BEWARE THE MONSTERS is running now on NETFLIX in 13 episodes, based on Aitchison's books written under his pseudonym JAMES LEE.  Mr Midnight books are Asia's best-selling children's books with over 130 titles in the series.  Translated into Chinese, Indonesian, Malay, Thai and Cambodian, the books mix horror and humour, with the characters escaping doom through ingenuity, courage and logic.  Many parents have reported that the books encouraged their children to put down electronic devices and read.

The Mr Midnight books are now in Australia through Booktopia.

Aitchison has written over 190 books, including trade titles on advertising.  Many of his 270 poems have appeared on the Australian Children's Poetry website, as well as Australian anthologies, and literary journals in the UK and US.

James Lee is a pseudonym for James Aitchison. Although I'm an Australian and the author of 165 books, my writing career started in Singapore, where I lived for 30 years. I wrote serious marketing and advertising books (Pearson and John Wiley), and horror and mystery stories for middle readers (Angsana). The Mr Midnight books have sold more than three million copies. Now I'm back in Melbourne, I still write my Singapore series, as well as Ghostworks for Xoum Sydney. James Lee is my pen name for children's books.

I also write poetry and my work is represented in the Australian Poetry Anthology 2016, out soon.
