Set on a fantasy island, a little girl invites the reader to join her on a quest
to find her cheeky baby brother, who has crawled away. She packs her
‘anti-dragon kit’ and bravely sets off, aware that the ferocious beast could be
lurking around any corner. Carefully and quietly, she searches across the
island for her brother always being careful not to disturb the dragon. While
some false sightings make her nervous, and other obstacles must be overcome,
she cautiously proceeds knowing her baby brother is all alone.
Don’t Disturb the Dragon! is an engaging picture book for early
childhood. The adventure story is written in rhyming couplets and complemented
by full colour cartoon illustrations. It would appeal to an audience aged 3
years and older as a fun bedtime story.
