Rambo’s Chicken Tale

Rambo’s Library Publications would like to announce the release of “Rambo’s Chicken Tale” a story set during an actual Story Dog reading session, at Kerry Street Community School, in Hamilton Hill, West Australia.

 A picture story book based on a true event when Rambo the Story Dog's reading session is unexpectantly interrupted by a menacing troop of chickens.  Who will fix this dilemma so foul (fowl)?  Written through rhyming verse with a catchy refrain. Children will howl along with Rambo when they can't contain their excitement as the story progresses.  Told with beautiful expressive illustrations capturing the many expressions of Rambo the Story Dog.

At the back of the book is some information pages to highlight the wonderful Story Dogs program and assist RSPCA WA to continue to advocate for all animals large and small. A donation to both not-for- profit organisations is being donated for every book sold.

 

About the Author : Linda Williams : Linda was born in Liverpool, UK and came to Australia in 1966.  She now lives in Hamilton Hill.  She works in a public library in Perth, Western Australia for the past eight years as a Customer Experience Officer. 

She was a volunteer area co-ordinator for Story Dogs, a not-for-profit organisation.  As a dog team (a calm and friendly dog and their handler) would go into a designated school each week and have students read to the dog to build the students confidence and joy of reading.  Story Dogs vision is to make reading fun for children, so they become confident lifelong readers.

She has a passion for dogs and books so while volunteering with her dog “Rambo” with Story Dogs her two worlds collided with sheer joy.

Her current rescue dog “Boof” is still a work in progress, a goofy cuddlebug.

She is married to Andrew and has two grown up children and is Nanny Bookbook to three amazing grandchildren.

Exploring and enjoying Perth’s many natural features keep her busy on weekends.  She loves snorkelling and you can quite often find her bobbing around in an aqua class.

This is Linda’s first Picture Story book.

About the Illustrator : Veronica Rooke : Veronica is the illustrator for ‘Rambo’s Chicken Tale’. She works in different styles and is the artist of many children’s books like…oh, it’s just easier to google her! Her main priority was to create artwork that Linda wanted, she believes the author’s story is most important. Veronica has also drawn pet portraits before, but Rambo is the first one she needed to turn into a complete character.

She enjoyed illustrating this book as much as you will enjoy reading it.
