Every page is awash with cartoon black-and-white
illustrations, with visual impact also from different typefaces. Griffiths says
of illustrator Hope, ‘His drawings have a cinematic quality that amplify the
fun of the fast-paced narrative and the mind-expanding thrills of book-based
adventuring.
Hope says of Griffiths, ‘We have worked very closely together
sketching and writing simultaneously so the words and pictures have a wonderful
synchronicity and capture the immense fun we had creating them.’
The book is likely to appeal to readers aged 9+ years.
